Tucked into the canyons and hillsides above Beverly Hills, the area known as Beverly Hills Post Office or BHPO has all the flair of that fair city including a Beverly Hills zip code but is actually part of the city of Los Angeles. BHPO begins about a mile north of Sunset Boulevard and stretches up to the hilltop at Mulholland Drive. It includes portions of Benedict Canyon, Franklin Canyon, Coldwater Canyon and Deep Canyon, and luxury residential properties such as Mulholland Estates, The Summit, and Beverly Park.

Perhaps the most famous residents of BHPO (at the time still an un-named portion of the city) were Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, whose palatial Pickfair was the hub of the Hollywood social scene for many years. Mary Pickford lived in the Summit Drive house until her death, in 1979, and it was later owned by Jerry Buss and then by Pia Zadora.

This is an area that is almost exclusively residential—no gas stations or strip malls, no shopping plazas or parking structures.
